This Privacy Policy explains how Not a Shell Company LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Spot King mobile application and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.
Information We Collect
Account information: your username, email address, and a securely hashed password. We also record your acceptance of our Terms of Service.
Content you create: videos (“clips”) you record and upload, captions, comments, and the up-votes you give.
Location information: with your permission, we use your device’s location to find nearby skate spots, to create and tag spots, and to associate your clips with a spot and its general region (e.g., state and country). Spots and the clips posted to them are shown publicly within the app, including their location on a map.
Social information: the accounts you follow and who follows you, and notifications generated by activity (up-votes, comments, follows, and spot rankings).
Usage & device information: in-app activity events (for example, when a clip is viewed), app version, platform, a session identifier, and technical/log data such as IP address.
How We Use Information
To operate the Service — host and play back clips, power the map, and calculate spot rankings and skater tiers.
To create and secure your account, including sending email verification codes.
To enable social features (following, comments, notifications).
To understand usage, fix problems, and improve the Service.
To keep the Service safe — enforce our Terms, moderate content, and prevent abuse.
What Is Public
Spot King is a social app. Your username, profile picture, bio, clips, captions, comments, spot activity, and rankings are visible to other users and may be publicly viewable. Because clips are tied to skate spots, posting a clip reveals the location of that spot. Please don’t post anything, or reveal any location, you want to keep private.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
Service providers who help us run the Service — for example, cloud hosting and database providers, our email delivery provider, and our content-delivery/DNS provider. They may process data only to provide services to us.
Other users, for the public content described above.
Legal and safety — when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, the public, or us.
Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete individual clips at any time. You may also request deletion of your account and associated content by contacting us (in-app account deletion is being added).
Your Choices
Location: you can allow or deny location access in your device settings. Some features (finding and posting to spots) need location to work.
Access & deletion: you may request a copy or deletion of your personal data by emailing us at the address below.
Children
Spot King is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information (for example, passwords are stored hashed and connections are encrypted). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
